I met Francis in a Youth With A Purpose (YWAP) meeting in 2007. I had been invited by my daughter, who was a member at the time. I visited—and I stayed… much to the surprise and possible confusion of some of the young people. What was this Daddy doing among them?

But Francis drew close. And today, all these years later, he remains in contact. He chose to learn, to grow, and to seek counsel whenever he needed it. I have watched him mature from a young man with lofty—sometimes unrealistic—ideas into a responsible husband, father, and minister of the gospel. I see him keeping Jesus front and center, pressing on faithfully in spite of the odds.

Dear son, as you celebrate this landmark birthday, I pray that the wisdom of God will continue to guide you. May you stand tall—faithful to God, to your family, and to humanity—as the Lord lifts you beyond your wildest dreams.
